How we work.

On the shop floor

We build for busy owners on a phone. Everyone spends time in real workshops, not just in meetings about them.

Ship it this week

Small team, short loops. What a customer tells you on Monday can be live by Friday.

Honest numbers

We only claim what we can stand behind, to customers and to each other.

Sales

Founding Sales Lead

Auckland or Melbourne · on the road · Full-time

Be the first sales hire. Walk into workshops across NZ and AU, show owners what an hour of lost labour costs them, and sign them up.

KAVINEX is the workshop OS mechanics run their day on: bookings, live bay timers, job cards, parts, invoicing and Xero. Workshops that switch over bill more of the hours their techs actually work.

Until now the founders have sold every account. You'll take that over, build the playbook, and work directly with the people building the product, so what you hear on the shop floor ships in weeks, not quarters.

You will

  • Find and book workshop owners: walk-ins, phone, referrals, trade events and supplier networks
  • Run demos on a laptop or phone at the counter, in plain language
  • Own the pipeline from first call to go-live, and hand over to onboarding cleanly
  • Bring every objection and feature request back to the product team
  • Help decide who we hire next as sales grows

You have

  • A track record of closing deals with small business owners (trade, automotive or SaaS)
  • Comfort cold-calling and walking into a busy workshop unannounced
  • Clear, honest communication — you'd rather lose a deal than oversell it
  • A full driver's licence and happiness to travel between workshops

Bonus points

  • You've worked in or sold to automotive workshops
  • You've sold software such as workshop, POS or accounting tools

Workshop Onboarding Specialist

Auckland or Melbourne · some travel · Full-time

Get new workshops live on KAVINEX, bring their customers, vehicles and history across, and make sure the whole team is using it by the end of week one.

Switching systems is the scariest part of buying software for a workshop owner. Your job is to make it boring: a clean data move, a trained team and a first invoice out the door.

You will

  • Run go-lives, on site or remote, from kickoff to first invoice
  • Migrate customer, vehicle, job and parts data from the workshop's old system
  • Train owners, service advisors and technicians
  • Check in over the first 90 days and spot workshops at risk early
  • Turn repeated questions into better product and better docs

You have

  • Experience onboarding or training customers on software
  • Patience and a calm manner with busy, sceptical people
  • Care with data and spreadsheets
  • Happiness to travel to workshops when needed

Bonus points

  • You've worked front of house in a workshop
  • You've used workshop management or accounting software such as Xero

Customer Support Lead

Auckland or Melbourne · hybrid · Full-time

Be the voice workshops hear when they need help — fast, friendly answers from someone who understands how a workshop actually runs.

Workshops can't wait on a ticket queue with a car on the hoist. We want support that answers quickly, fixes the problem and tells engineering what to fix so it doesn't happen again.

You will

  • Answer customers by phone, email and chat
  • Reproduce bugs and write them up clearly for engineering
  • Build our help centre and support playbook
  • Spot patterns and push for fixes at the source

You have

  • Experience in customer support, ideally for software
  • Clear, warm writing and a calm phone manner
  • Curiosity to dig into a problem until it's actually solved

Bonus points

  • You've been a service advisor or mechanic
  • You're comfortable reading logs or running a database query
Design

Product Designer

Auckland, Melbourne or remote in NZ/AU · Full-time

Design software a workshop owner can use on a phone, between jobs, without training.

Our users are busy, non-technical and usually standing up. Great design here means fewer taps, bigger targets and screens that make sense at a glance.

You will

  • Design across the web app, mobile app and customer-facing pages
  • Run quick research in real workshops and turn it into shipped designs
  • Work directly with engineers, often building alongside them
  • Grow our design system as the product grows

You have

  • A portfolio of shipped product work, especially mobile
  • Strong interaction and visual design skills
  • A habit of simplifying rather than adding

Bonus points

  • You can write front-end code
  • You've designed for field or trade workers
